Install WordPress on your web hosting

1. Point your domain at your hosting first (see Point your domain at your hosting). Wait until it resolves.
2. Open your control panel from the dashboard and look for the WordPress installer or app installer. If it is not listed, upload WordPress manually and create a database.
3. Choose your domain, leave the install folder empty for the main site, and set an admin name and a long unique password.
4. Open yourdomain.com/wp-admin and sign in. Check that your site address uses https, which is free and automatic.
5. Choose a lightweight theme and install only the plugins you need. Every extra plugin adds risk and load.
6. Keep WordPress, themes and plugins updated, and make a backup before big changes.
